Images of God: Lifeline

She shared about an image of Jesus standing on a brown hill at dusk, rolling out a ribbon. It fluttered in the wind. She watched, mesmerized by the sight of Jesus rolling out the thin purple line waving, curving and meandering against the orange tinted sunset. Rolling it out copiously to her, even though she stood a long way away struggling to take it because of the messiness of her life. Through the barbed prison fences, this is how she would like to see Jesus. He would be smiling and beckoning her. Assured, she would reach out and catch the ribbon. It will feel good in her hands: silky, rich, comforting. She will smile. Jesus will smile too. And they will break into heartfelt giggles and laughter.
